Apostille or embassy attestation?

An apostille is accepted by countries in the Hague Convention. For other countries the document needs embassy attestation instead, which is a different route. Tell us the destination country and we will confirm which one applies before any work starts.

Where the document goes first

An apostille is the last stamp, not the first. Depending on what the document is and which state issued it, one or two attestations come before the Ministry of External Affairs.

Typical route

Notary State attestation MEA apostille
Educational documents attested by the state education department before the MEA
Personal documents attested by the State Home Department or General Administration Department
Commercial documents attested by the relevant Chamber of Commerce

Send a photo of the document and tell us the destination country. We will confirm the exact route and what it will cost before we begin.

How your file moves

The same four steps for every document, whether it is a single birth certificate or a full set of educational papers.

1

Talk to us

Call, message on WhatsApp or walk into the Somwar Peth office. Tell us what you need and we will list out which documents apply to your specific case.

2

Document check

Every proof is verified before anything is submitted. This is where most applications go wrong, so this is where we spend the most time.

3

Filing and appointment

We complete the application, pay the government fee and book the earliest slot available to us at that time.

4

Visit and delivery

You are briefed on what happens at each counter. We then track the file and update you until it is done.

What you pay

Two separate amounts, always told to you before we begin. Nothing is added later.

Amount Paid to How it is decided
Government fee The Ministry of External Affairs and the attesting department Fixed by the department as per the current published schedule
Trivocity service charge Trivocity Quoted upfront based on the category and the documentation involved
Third-party costs Notary, courier or photo studio Only if your case needs them, and told to you in advance

What we can and cannot control

Processing time and the final decision rest with the Ministry of External Affairs and the attesting departments. What we take responsibility for is a complete and correctly sequenced file, and a clear update from us at every stage.

Tell us the destination country

Send a photo of the document and the country it is going to on WhatsApp. We will tell you whether it needs an apostille or embassy attestation, and what the route looks like.
