Lost or damaged passport in Pune
A lost passport is a separate process, not a normal re-issue. It needs a police complaint, an affidavit explaining the loss and a careful re-application, and it is worth getting right the first time.
What the file needs
The Regional Passport Office treats a lost or stolen passport as a serious matter, and the application has to account for what happened. A damaged passport follows a similar route, with the damaged book surrendered.
Usually asked for
Report it first
File the police complaint before anything else and keep a copy. Without it the application cannot be made, and a complaint filed long after the fact raises questions that slow the file down.
Damaged rather than lost
Damage is judged by whether the passport is still readable and whether the personal particulars and photograph are intact. Ordinary wear is treated differently from a book that has been through water or has pages missing.
Common cases
How your file moves
The same four steps as any other application, with the police complaint and affidavit prepared before anything is filed.
Talk to us
Call, message on WhatsApp or walk into the Somwar Peth office. Tell us what you need and we will list out which documents apply to your specific case.
Document check
Every proof is verified before anything is submitted. This is where most applications go wrong, so this is where we spend the most time.
Filing and appointment
We complete the application, pay the government fee and book the earliest slot available to us at that time.
Visit and delivery
You are briefed on what happens at each counter. We then track the file and update you until it is done.
What you pay
Two separate amounts, always told to you before we begin. Nothing is added later.
What we can and cannot control
Processing time, police verification and the final decision rest entirely with the Regional Passport Office. What we take responsibility for is a complete and correctly documented application, and a clear update from us at every stage.
Lost your passport?
File the police complaint, then send us a photo of it on WhatsApp. We will tell you what the affidavit needs to say and what else the file requires.
